Here Lay our Sacred Dead

Here lay memories of our dead. They are our teachers, partners, lovers, friends and siblings. Some are beyond time and boundaries of blood.  They are our hearth and our heart.

Every year at Sickle we arrange an Ancestral Altar to honor those who have passed in the years before. Hekate watches over this virtual altar space and her Priesthood awaits your stories so they might be shared with the community.

Pete Pathfinder

Pete Pathfinder, Founder of the ATC (1937-2014)

"Never forget that life is a journey, not a destination. You will never build a reputation on what you are going to do, and unfortunately, it’s never too late to do nothing. Only those who can see the invisible can accomplish the impossible, so go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Do what you can, where you are, with what you have, right now! If you can dream it, you can do it, so do the things you think you cannot do. Luck is nothing more than good planning, carefully executed. Wisdom is knowing what comes next, and knowing just when to jump off the swing. You are only young once, but if you don’t pay attention to life’s lessons, you will be immature forever."

– Pete Pathfinder Davis, ATC founder & Archpriest

Stewart Farrar

Stewart Farrar (1916-2000) Author and Founder of Progressive Wicca with Janet Farrar and Gavin Bone beloved of both.

"I rode through a dark gorge and emerged into a sight that showed me a glimpse of paradise. Before me stood "The Rose Red City" as old as time - Petra. It was if the very walls spoke to me; whispers of past civilizations and mysteries that they still held. I was awe struck. Here at the end of the Silk Road, this ancient miricle created by the old Nabateans, the remanants of Mesopotamian nomads, held me in its grasp. I felt a sense of wonder and it was through that experience that I later coined a phrase for the Craft: 'What makes a witch: A sense of wonder!""

Morning Glory Zell

Morning Glory Zell

With her long-time husband and companion Oberon Zell, Morning Glory was a pivotal figure in the history of contemporary Paganism in America. She formed the early core of the Church of All Worlds (CAW), helped create and edit Green Egg Magazine, one of the most influential publications in modern Paganism’s history, founded The Mythic Images Collection, coined the term “polyamory,” and grew to become a highly respected source on Goddess lore who toured the country speaking and teaching.

She embarked upon her silver ship to the Summerlands Tuesday May 13th, 2014 at 5:42 p.m.

“There are people whose lives make an indelible mark on the tapestry of life. Morning Glory Zell was such a person. As Priestess, Wife, Teacher and Friend; she devoted her life to providing a contemporary throne to our ancient Goddess. We thank you! We celebrate you! We will miss your physical presence. But we will carry forth your work and we will honor you as a Sacred Ancestress, Morning Glory. The death of your body is but the expansion of your spirit. May our lady guide and guard you in your journey, great lady. And may the love of so many of us be a source of strength and healing for Oberon. As a Pagan and Witch tribe We stand with you. I love you both dearly. My Gods love you.” – Orion Foxwood

David

David "Arthur" Lokamp

David "Arthur" Lokamp passed to the Elysian Fields on Thursday, July 27th from a cardiac event.

Arthur was the head of ATC Event Security for the better part of four decades. His love for the people of the ATC and Pagan Communities in WA and OR was often matched, but never exceeded. His heart and smile, his laugh and his ability to make friends wherever he went were a fixture in many of our lives.

He was so happy to be back in person for festival this year. We are blessed to have been able to celebrate with him in person one more time.

Hail the Traveler.
